We have two exchange (5.5) servers. All public folders were supposed to reside on one server and be replicated to the other. The ‘other’ server has now failed (we have been going to replace it for ages!). I have now found that we have three public folders which resided on the failed server, but are no longer required. I would like to be able to delete these folders from the remaining server but it won’t let me as the home server is not available.

Is there any way to delete these folders without having to rebuild the failed server?

You most probably will need to run the consistency adjustor on the public store - make sure both options are ticked for it - can't remember what they are.

Do a search on Microsoft's website regarding this, as there is a caveat about running this, when there are public folders from other servers in the Org - something about resetting permissions on all folders this server has a replica of - can't remember exact phrasing.
