We have internet access but cannot share files...

I have five PCs and all of them can share information through shared folders except for one. All of the systems can ping and recieve a response except for this same troublesome PC.
All IP information is supplied via DHCP on the Broadband router.

On the problem PC, I've released and renewed both dns & dhcp. I've also tried a clean boot. that is a boot with out any third party services and still I cannot map a share from any other PC.

I'm running out of ideas.

What more should I be looking for?

Hum!! Are they in the same workgroup?? Is file and print sharing enabled(checked in network connections)? Is simple file sharing in file options clicked or not? I had similar problem had to create same user on all comps.. played with alot of settings tho.. so not too sure exactly what worked!! HEE HEE But I did learn one true tech tip... if its working leave it alone unless you have internet access and hours to pick these guys brains...

I'm kinda new to the IT world so if these suggestions are kinda NOOB (NUB)(lol) can someone let me know if they would be they make any sense at all..

Is there any firewall interfering with connections. If there is, configure it to allow ICMP (Pinging, only while you test) and Network Access for your LAN. Nowadays many anti virus software have hidden firewalling capabilities. Disabling a firewall (again, only for testing purposes) is not sufficient, it either must be configured correctly or uninstalled while you test Networking between your computers.

The issue looks related to a virus protection/firewall application. Much like Linney suggested, after configuring the application to share files and such, I mapped a share without problem.
