We have a Solaris 2.6 system and are planning to upgrade
to Solaris 8. In any documentation I have seen so far, the overall space requirement is mentioned and not the requirement for / and /usr filesystems. Does anyone have any idea about the space requirements for these two filesystems?

Thanks in advance,

Of course, it depends on what you are going to use the system for. I've got 73 MB in use in /, and 1.2 GB in use in /usr. I do have /var as a separate mount point, which I have noticed some Solaris admins don't do. /var is 171 MB, /opt is using 861 MB.

Hope this helps.
