WE are using Windows 2000 Server with Citrix XP installed with published apps.

We have just changed our email client over to Lotus Notes 6.01 Due to resources on the server we have not installed the client side of lotus for the terminal users. They are using a web client of Lotus to send and receive email. They actually go to an Http address.

Here is my problem
There is a program called unisearch which is a scanning client that they use daily. They need to send email out of the client by select file/send/email client.

How do I make citrix terminal sessions open to the lotus web client to send the mail from unisearch

Thanks

Hello,

I have a question and would appreciate if someone would tell me what is going on.

We have a citrix XP server on Windows 2000 server. For some reason now some of the clients when they log into citrix cannot see their own drives off their machine. It maps it as C$on client etc but when one click on it nothing shows up?

What could be wrong? Also is there a way to disable the way the desktop looks and feels and provide only option to logoff rather than shut down etc. We want to use the desktop feature though.

Trekk - sounds like a question to ask "unisearch". Otherwise you could perhaps do a hack and create an asp file that launches the Notes web client when an application like unisearch tries to run the default mail client. Another option might be to use a simple app like "blat" to send the info out via smtp.

citrixuser:
1. Sounds like the users may have clicked "no" when prompted for the first time if the ICA client can access files/devices on the local client. To fix, just reinstall the client.
2. You can prevent normal users from being able to shut down the server via (standard NT) policies. To remove the prompt (otherwise they will still see the option, even though they won't be able to actually do it) you can also add the registry entry below in the Default Users/all existing user's profiles

Key: HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Value: NoClose
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1 (Hide Shutdown), or 0 (Don't Hide).

There is also a hangload of info for tuning your server, and various other registry hacks available at and

Hello,

Thank for getting back. I will try the suggestion on hiding the shutdown choice.

However will need some more suggestion. The first time citirx client was installed I did choose to provide full access and then never ask for any application of session again. Since I could not see any client drives I uninstalled it and reinstalled but this time did not get that option. Is there something resident in the registry that is causing it not to pop up that message again? This machine is Windows XP Home version. Please let me know what else I can try.

Thanks in advance for your help. Also thanks for the links.

Look for the file "webica.ini" on your workstation(s) - it will probably be in "c:\windows". This stores the ica defaults - if you quit out of the client then delete this file, you should be prompted for your choices and this file created again next time you fire up the ica client.

Cheers
