We are upgrading to Platinum 5.01 which uses Pervasive.SQL2009. We have installed Pervasive on the server, and a client install on a workstation. The server is running Win2000 server, and the workstation is Win2000 professional.

The pervasive system analyzer on the server is successful on both Transactional and Relational Engine Tests.

On the client the Network communication test is successful, however both the transactional (Status 3014) and relational engine tests fail.

We have a Novell network and several Win2000/NT servers.

Not sure what my next step should be.....

If you have installed the Server version of Pervasive and you have installed the client on a seperate computer on your network, make sure you set the Pervasive Control panel under the client configuration to Local=Off and Remote=On. Also the data must reside on that same server as the Pervasive Server engine. Gil

Gil:

After many hours of frustration we discovered that the server (which is new) has a dual nic card (not configured for teaming) one has a valid connector, one has a terminator. The one with the terminator picked up an IP address, even though it was not connected to the network, it was registered with DNS with a computer name (platinum), but was not available to connect to the client. The communication test was only successful previously because it was using IPX.

Thanks for your help though, we checked the settings as you suggested!
