I have tried using every partition tool under the sun for my Western Digital 120GB drive, but when I fdisk the drive, it is only seen to be 32GB...what happened to the rest of the storage space??? I have tried to find a low level format program, but to no avail...even data lifeguard tools 11 cannot partiton it beyond 32GB...

Any help is welcome

What OS are you using?

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I am using Windows XP Professional and PCLinuxOS Gnome edition

When NOT to use Alternate Jumper Settings:

* If you are running Windows NT/2000/XP.

There is a free utility called Darik's Boot & Nuke, or DBAN:

That performs a low-level wipe of the drive. You should see full capacity after this. Please note a single pass should suffice.

Can your BIOS pick up the complete size? If not then as Freestone said its likely a jumper issue limiting the size of the drive.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

could t be hidden partitions? Since I have partitioned part of the drive for Windows and another part for Linux? I have looked for partitions to remove with each install disk.

Thanks

Start
RUN
diskmgmt.msc

Does it show up there?
