Hi All,

I have a customer, who has recently bought a Cisco Telepresence SX 20 VC, using the Cisco ISDN Link device, to use the BRI ports off the CM.

They had an old Tandberg VC unit which died on them, hence the new CISCO unit.

Anyway they are having some issues with the new unit, which the VC supplier is blaming the CM for. Outbound VC calls appear to work ok, but they can't receive any incoming VC calls. The unit just says "Accept and Merge" serveral times and then drops the call.

The supplier has said that the BRIs need to be configured to Point to Multi-point. I have the ports on the TN556D configured as WCBRI's, but I can't see anywhere on the CM programming that indicated Point to Point or Point to Multi-Point.

So how do I know if my ports will be Point to Point or Point to Multi-Point??

If anybody has a similar VC unit using the BRI's on the CM and you don't mind posting a copy of your config, I'd really appreciate it?

Many Thanks

Glimma.

multipoint is 2 wcbri stations programmed with the same port
or
1 station and a datamodule programmed on the same port

Thanks BSH for the reply.

I have a further question for you.

ISDN2e provides 2 bearer channels and 1 signalling channel, and usually the 2 b channels have the same number...

So if I add a 2nd WCBRI station to the same port, how do I route my incoming DDI calls? At the moment I have an entry in the AAR table, pointing the incoming call to the WCBRI station, but how can I route a incoming DDI call to both WCBRI stations??

Thanks

Just tried to add the 2nd WCBRI onto the same port and got the following error message:

"01a1004" BRI: Non SPID 'partner'; please select another port

I thought the SPID was more a North American thing. I've set the WCBRI's to ETSI on page 2 as I'm in the UK, but I can't add a 2nd WCBRI to the same port...

I have BRI lines connected using a cisco isdnlink. What card on the Avaya side are you using? The reason I ask is the card I have is ST interface and the Cisco ISDN link is U interface so we have an NT1 box in between them to convert ST to U. Mine are configured as WCBRI

I'm using a TN556D for the BRI's.

I found a data sheet from CISCO, which states the ISDN Link comes with 4x ISDN BRI (RJ45) S/T interfaces, see link below:

So I think that if the Cisco ISDN Link interfaces are S/T, then I should be connecting to S/T interfaces on the CM, so the TN556D looks about the right choice...
