I have an application will only install on pentium or better processor but I wanted to use some old 486 machine with this software. Is there way to fool the software about what the hardware is reporting?
Thanks
Even if the CPU can be seen as a Pentium, I doubt it would run as fast as one, so the question is would your application run at all if it requires a Pentium CPU??
The portion of the registry having to do with hardware is dynamic, regenerated at each boot. If the software checked the registry setting, one could probably fool the software but whatever was done, would have to be done each boot (unless the software only check at install).
