Ways to add email to the smart tag list?

Hello! I am new here and trying to verify some information that was told to me as I am not exceptionally knowledgeable in all of this stuff.

Once an email address is removed from the smart tag list, what are the ways it is added back to the list?

I think I know of typing it in manually and maybe even receiving an email from that address as well....any way else?

I was told that doing a restore to the email after it crashed or running the repair tool added the email addys back into smart tags...but if that were true would it not add all the deleted emails back from before the restore and not just 1 or 2?

You should indicate what client you are refering to???

I assume Outlook but??

A "smart tag" is a type of button that provides choices for enhancing content and layout in Microsoft Office

This is what is referenced as 'smart tag' in OL...obviously not what you are refering to...
