We have several win XP clients at our office, all of whom have 40+GB of space available. Is it possible to use some sort of client software to build a storage network over the clients? And make it redundant? Kind of a google style storage network, running off of basic non-server class PCs? What product would I use?

I read some time ago a white paper about what you are talking about, to use the free space of clients in order to use it in the "smart way", not only client data, but distributed corporate data. the paper was from Connected ( and today there is no product that do that, but it's a challenge for the backup/recovery companies (as connected). Connected has in plans a product to do this kind of application.

So, today, there is no product to do that (at least that I know).

Cheers.
