way to find the version of client connectivity components?

i am working on upgrading te clientsand server computers from 2000 t0 2005.

i can find the version of sql server running on th server by @@version but ho do i find the version of client connctivity components the computer has installed in order to ugrade?

1. somehow i need t know whether to upgrade a client computer from 2000 to 2005?

2. is there a way to enable tcp/ip in installation script?

The DMV sys.dm_exec_connections shows the protocol version in the protocal_version column. This may give you the info that you need. You'll need to test this.

Yes you can enable TCP/IP after install via a setup script. It's set via a registry key.
