I'm currently supporting two Partner R6 systems which are in office a couple miles apart from each other. Is there any way to connect the systems for direct extension dialing and to alleviate the headaches for customers dialing in and having to be transferred back and forth via centrex?

Wasn't sure if there was something IP based, or some other solution that would work with the ACS line...

Thanks
Pete

Multitech has a viable solution, providing that you have high speed internet at both locations.....

This may work for you.

Go into central telephone programming, select a button to program, Press, speaker, hold, 9, hold, the telephone number to centrex transfer to.

Speaker=recall
Hold=pause

When the call comes in, press the button that you just programmed, and hang up. It will acomplish the centrex transfer.

There shouldn't be any headaches with a Centrex transfer. As aarenot describes just program a button. Call comes in just press the button and hang up. If you don't hang up you can announce the call to whoever picks up at the other office. When you do hang up the call goes over to them.

This may not be exactly what you want to have happen but it's A LOT cheaper than new systems.
