Just saw this on an email from SSWUG.org in his "way out there" predictions. Maybe nothing to it, but sure would be nice.

"The company formerly known as Borland will be resurrected, purchase rights, and release the next version of Visual Fox Pro."

Remember way back MS did publish the Sedna Add On for FoxPro on Codeplex? That caused rumors about this being the sources of FoxPro, while in fact Sedna was and is just an add on To foxpro and only some Sedna downloads provided include soiurce code, others are binary.

MS has already stated way back then, that foxpro will indeed not be open sourced, as some of the code in foxpro also is part of other MS Products - whatever exactly.

That doesn't mean they could not sell it to a third party. Still it's very unlikely to give away such knowledge to a competitor, ìsn't it?

Bye, Olaf.

and Elvis will do a come-back tour

I'd be very, very surprised. There is lots of intellectual property in FoxPro that has been used in other Microsoft applicatoins that I don't see Microsoft giving up.

Replace transistor devices with biological devices. For example, using an organic brain for computer memory or computation. They were using animal brains for computer memory back in 1985. Now if we could clone an elephant brain for a computer, we would have a machine that never forgets, and works for peanuts.

That sounds more likely to happen. :)

Bye, Olaf.

Good one Olaf, you're probably right!
