Anyone got this problem?

I have:

Soltek sl-75kav
AMD Athlon 1.2
Hercules 3d Prophet 4000XT 16Mb AGP or
Nvidia Riva TNT 16Mb AGP (Tried both)
1X512Mb SDRAM PC133
1X256Mb SDRAM PC133

I have tried to play a couple of games on this system and it only seems to work properly with software rendering. If I try any other settings such as Open GL at a different screen res the screen goes wavy (like looking through heat or gas!). I know its not the graphics card because I have used both of the above and its the same.
I have installed the updated drivers for both Graphics cards but theres no difference.
If I install the games and use either graphics cards on a slower PIII 450 the games are fine with any setting.

Is this a 'feature' of Athlon processors? Should I pay more attention to the RAM?

Anyone else had this problem?

Help much appreciated.

Thanks

Simon

Have you checked area around monitor for EMF? {speakers, transformers, ect...)

It might help your troubleshooting to do a Start/Run/type dxdiag and run the tests...there are troubleshooters on the last page. The 1st page will show what's on your system.
