is there a code to use to permanently alter graphics in order to put a watermark in them?

create watermarks within word if i'm not mistaken. if you want to create a more detailed watermark, a java program may be of great help. It is able to display graphics at locations, I think there is a watermark function within java, i may be wrong, i am in the process of learning it now.
Within Java?
Will it permanently alter the image?
That's what I need.
Do let me know if there is such a thing!

I know that you can put the main image as the background of the java applet and then overlay the watermark as a faded or slightly transparent graphic. From here, if I recall correctly, the graphic cannot be immediately picked up with normal right clicking or any kind of saving.
Hope this helps some.
i know java (enough for what you want)... (sorry inever responded sooner, i been away)... i would need the images, and the layout, i DONT however, know the image syntax for creating a watermark... that would have to be done manualy... less anyone knows the code?? give me the graphics and i should be able to whip up something.
Hmmm.....do you want the watermark to be in the form of a superimposed graphic? or of a digitally-induced imperfection in the main graphic? If you want to just slightly (and ALMOST imperceptably) alter the main graphic, then just open the graphic file in a text editor, type in a phrase, or something for the watermark, then re-save it.....just make sure the watermark is not in the first 1/4 of the file as this could cause errors in displaying the graphic. This would then be *rather* imperceptable in the final graphic, but if you opened it in a text editor & looked in the right place; there's the phrase that you added, permanently!
That would take too long... might as well edit each and every image if we were to do that.
The Java will work nicely... thanks again for the link! :)
