im setting up a liquid cooling system the aquarius 3 and im having a little trouble understanding when it says to use a water 10: coolant 3 ratio. i was thinking maybe 30% coolant compared to water but i wanna make sure.

Also the booklet states that it is preferred to use distilled water. does this really makes a difference. i really dont wanna have to go buy water but if i have to.

Using distilled water would depend on what is in the water in your area. I would recommend it though. At a cost of a couple of dollars in relation to the rest of your investment it's a good deal. There are several good watercooling sites that have products to add for cooling and corrosion resistance. You can get as simple or as complex as you can afford.

Distilled water, uncontaminated, has no salt, organic compounds, or bacteria which can cause a reaction with components of a cooling system. Distilled water is a very poor conductor of electricity. Cheap insurance

Distilled water is de-mineralized so has no impurities to leave damaging deposits.
As used for topping up car batteries so is available very cheaply from any car accessory shop.

Exact coolant ratio is not critical so don't beat yourself up over it, 25% sounds about right to me.

The coolant additive is more about offering corrosion inhibiters than improving cooling ability, infact too higher strength mix actually has a slightly negative effect on cooling efficiency pure water is actually better but you need the additive for it's other positive benefits.
