Not an incident - just a question into the Watchguard forum:

Would you compare watchguard to Cisco for:
-ease of management
-cost
-long term solution
-enterpise solution versus small-mid size business use
-would the watchguard all in one box perform under heavy load at a data centre

I know that these are really general questions but we are looking at Cisco and Watchguard for our company standard. I come from a Cisco world and have only had limited knowledge of Watchguard so I am asking for Watchguard experts in the forum to share their opinions with me.

Thanks!

Being a hardened WG engineer, I would naturally go watchguard. it is a very flexible device, with some granular policies.

Dimension server is now excellent for all your reporting and alerting and monitoring.

In terms of throughput, I think you really have to spend a lot of money vs Watchguard for the same performance - the WG M series is a beast.

What is your actual intended usage?

I could help with some remote configuration (for a small fee ;-) )
