Washed out black in Photoshop

Sorry to bother everybody again. When I open up an AI file that I have saved as a PDF file in photoshop, the blacks looked washed out. Almost like I have turned the opacity down. Also, the edges of the image do not look near as sharp as they do when the same file is viewed in Ilustrator. Any ideas??

Color modes the same?

Color profiles? I'm no expert in profiles but from what I hear having matching color profiles is pretty important. Maybe do some searches for more expert info on color profiles.
