Was I ripped off? Need Expert Opinion

My Tekronix printer I bought on Ebay arrived and it has an immediate error of "07,004.46:29587". It was shipped with the maintenance tray in it with some wax in the tray. The case was not damaged in shipping (1500 miles) but it looks like it may have been inverted. I did not verify the print head was locked before I turned it on.
Do you think the seller knowingly sent me a bad unit? He had only 6 sales over 2 years ahead of time. Do I push hard on this or try to get it fixed?

I forgot to mention that it is a Phaser 340 printer advertised as "GOOD" and that it made a good test page.

THAT ERROR MAY BE RESOLVED BY REPLACING THE DMC CLUTCH ON THE LEFT SIDE BEHIND THE I/O BOARD. P/N IS 401071001.
