Hi,
I'm installing websphere 5.1 application server for the first time in my life (so far I've only used the WSAD test environment...).
It's Base edition, on Windows.
During the installation process I'm asked to enter a host name (by default, the wizard suggets to use my machines' name, as specified on "My Computer - Computer Name" ).
Now this might sound silly, but what does WAS do with this hostname, exactly ? I.e. what will happen if during installation you give it an invalid host, such as "foo" (or the name of another host, e.g. you install WAS on machine " but during the installation you enter host=" ) ?
(Please excuse my being a newbie. However, I have used Tomcat, and it never prompt me for a host, let alone allow me to give it a host that's different from the actual computer name...).
Thanx !
