Help! Help! Help!.... I was trying to stretch out my partitions in NWCONFIG and entered Disk initialization and got the following message:

"WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! Continuing with this next step will clear off all the partitions on this device. This should be done as a last resort as it will wipe off all partitions on all devices. Please be certain that this is what you want to do before continuing. If you decide to continue all volumes will be dismounted before disk is initialized and new partitions table will be created. (NWCONFIG -5-597) This is what I DO NOT WANT TO DO! How do I cancel this action and save my data? This is a file server that has all my company's data! HELP!! Tank’s a whole lot, you are saving a life!

All you have to do is press <ENTER>, then you will be prompted to continue. Be sure to highlight "NO", then press enter. Then try either Modify Disk Partitions or Netware volume options. Keep in mind that spanning volumes or partitions across different disks is not a good idea. (Unless you are using RAID)If you are trying to add drive space with a new disk, you are better off to create a new partition and volume. It's safer that way.

As a caveat: always have a verified good, recent backup (like just before you do it)before undertaking any disk operations like you are trying.

I'm very new to novell so I wasnt sure what the effects would have been and I couldnt find it in any of the books I have.... So thanks, that worked!
