Hello folks
I recently updated a BCM 400 with all the latest system and desktop patches 030 and 018. The BCM 400 rebooted OK, but it then suffered no incoming or outgoing calls.
We found that the alarm "Digital Trunk Media" was disabled / restarting etc was being outputted all the time, every few seconds. Looking at the physical lines section, showed that no lines were present!. A look at the resources showed that Bus's 6.0 and 7.0 were still set to DASS2 OK. However I was able to change them to PRI and view the physical lines, but I couldn't revert them back to DASS2 again.
After various reboots and different restores from backups done 6 and 12 months ago, I decided to use my test BCM system which was also recently fully patched with system 030. The fault migrated across, so I then knew it wasn't hardware or disk related.
Another sympton was that the digital Media trunk modules kept flashing like a Christmas tree every few seconds as this site had two ISDN 30 bearers on two modules.
I finally used a day one disk image and rebuilt it with system patch 029 and desktop 017. This was all OK, using a backup done the night before (lucky for me!).
I'm suspecting that Avaya hasn't realised that quite a number of systems in the UK still use DASS for their lines.
Please be aware, in case it happens to you!.
All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.
