I have 6 of the WAP11 v 2.8, with approximately 45 users spread across them. The WAPs are connected to a switch that connects to my T1. Occasionally (every couple of days) some of the WAPs seem to crash (typically the ones with more user traffic, approx 12-18 users, under the 32 user limit) There is no way to login via web browser on the wired LAN when this happens, and the lan traffic led light is off, but the link light is on. The problem is fixed when the access points are cycled, but it returns again within the next couple of days. Any ideas? There are not any newer releases of firmware yet, and I have them set on the same SSID and channel, for roaming purposes.

Honestly, when you talk about the number of users you are speaking about the HOST address space in IP, not the capacity of the device.

See what your users are doing. A single Kazaa user could easily swamp the available RAM in the device for forwarding entries.

The general rule is no more than 10 active devices on an AP, although you will not find this written in stone anywhere.

It is likely that one user (it does not require more than one) is exhaustive the available table space for forwarded entries on the device, based on your description.

Cisco, and others, offer the ability to add more storage in RAM for packets that need to be forwarded.
