Want to use last input of a filed as the default for new record

I would like to use the last input of a field as default to ease the repetive typing. example. typing in Purchase orders. you may have 12 lines on the PO and each line will be a record but the PO will be the same. I would like the po to auto fill the field until I start the next PO then I change it.

In the AfterUpdate event procedure of the form set the .DefaultValue property of each control you want to autofill on creation to the current .Value property.
