Want to tunnel into Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard

I've not completed a VPN connection before, looking for assistance
Single NIC,
Roles installed
DHCP service,
DNS service,
ADDS service,
Files service,
Network Policy & Access service,
Files & Document service

"remoteuser" & password defined (admin access)

Cisco DPC3825 DOCSIS 3.0 Gateway

Any assistance is appreciated - I suspect for those who have done it before it is a piece of cake

Routing and remote access role will allow you to VPN into the server using either PPTP on port 1723 which you would need to forward to the server or using SSL on port 443 which you would forward to the server also.

SSL client works with Windows 7 and PPTP will work with anything that supports PPTP such as Macs and Windows XP.

SSL is more secure and works very well with Windows 7 & 8

PPTP uses CHAPv2 authentication and 123 bit encryption and so is good for most situations

You can also use IPsec but that is another story....
