I have terminal services, application mode installed on a windows 2000 machine (it is a domain controller), and thus not able to access it using RDP
I want to switch the terminal services back to Admin mode.
Help!
-Thanks.

?
Whichever mode you are in you should be able to get in via RDP.
Don't think TS has a change option so you'll probably need to remove it and reinstall it in admin mode.

Thanks, I am on Windows 2003 server and I am not able to access it from any of the computers in my desktop. Can you please advice me as to what I should try to get the RDP working ?

Thanks.

Do you get an error message in the RDP client, or does it just timeout? Any errors in the event logs of the TS box? Are you going through a router that's not got the ports open?

switching between Admin and Application mode doesn't need to remove it or reinstall TS !

we need to know if the RDP is working but you can't login ?
or it timeout ?

Just timeout..no error message. I am reinstalling terminal services anyways ! Waiting for more suggestions.

-Thanks.

any errors in the Terminals Server Event Viewer ?
sometimes it's Terminal Service license issue !?

All the best!

If you are on W2003 rather than on w2000 as you originally specified you don't have to install TS for admin. It is already installed as remote desktop but has to be enabled.

Right click my computer on desktop and go to properties, remote and tick the Remote Desktop box then apply.

That's it.
