Question 1:
Is there a ORACLE8i version that support alphaev56-dec-osf4.0d?

Question 2:
alphaev56-dec-osf4.0d is a Digital UNIX 4.0x OS or Compaq Tru64 OS?

Thanks

I think it will work as far as the CPU is concerned, but you may find it quite slow as Oracle 8i and 9 will take full advantage of the instruction sets on later EV6 alphas - we tried to run Oracle 8i on and old AS200 4/233 and had very poor performance compared to V7 - I think this is because many of the EV6 Instruction get emulated. I think you may have problems with the OS version though - as far as I can remember you will have to be on at least 4.0f >
