How can I put 2 lines on a 8400 phone? We currently have an analog desk phone. We want to add a direct line and keep the current line using an 8400 series phone. Our wiring guy will make the jack digital, for a multi line phone. Do I use the digital port for 1 line, and make the other port x and make a bridged appearance for that line?

That will work yes. You could also just set the coverage of the second line to go to the 8400 phone's extension.

Unless you need to make outbound calls from the second extension this should work fine too. \

I personaly dislike bridged appearances so I always try to find another way around it.

When setting up bridged appearances on the 8400 set, make sure bridged call alerting is set to y in the station form. That should allow for the bridged appearance to ring at the 8400 set if needed.

What if you need to make calls from the second line? I have an issue where the call appearences relate to different companies and I pass CPN on a extension specific basis. I need call appear 1 to pass one cpn and call appearence 2 to pass a different one.
