I have two Sun 3500 machines, with arrays directly attached to both (no SAN). Both machines are running VxVm and they both have the same OS, Solaris 2.6. I need to migrate the data from machine to the other machine. (There is no SAN in place) Any ideas on how to migrate the data, it's only a few gb's of data? The machines has to be identical. How can this be accomplished? VxVm should be able to do this.

you can move the whole storage to another host, this is what VxVM can do for you. If you just want to move data you need a datadump (crated with eg. tar, cpio, ufsdump) or you can copy data using cp (over NFS) or scp/rcp

Best Regards, Franz
