Hi all,

Didn't mean to cross post but I didn't realize there was a "Microsoft certification and testing Forum" until after I posted in the other forum :p Well, I am currently planning to go for MCSD(Microsoft Certified Solution Developer) certifications, and I am wondering where should I start studying. Could you please point me in the right direction as to where I should start studying, what books, what to learn first, etc? Thanks :)

Anyways, why is MCSD better than MCAD?

Please advice.

Thanks in advance!

MCAD is a subset of the MCSD. I don't have a link handy (they are however, on half the threads in this forum) but the Microsoft site is the place to go. I'm an MCSD in VB 6.0, so I'm not a 100% sure, but I believe the new path is an MCP designation for 1st test passed, an MCAD for 3 tests passed, and then the MCSD for the 5th test passed. When I got mine, it was only 4 tests, so they added one and created the intermediate MCAD (A stands for application, S for Solutions). Good luck.

MCAD is meant for people who code.

MCSD is meant for people who code and are actively participating in the analysis and design of an application.

You need to pass the same tests for either MCAD or MCSD, you just need some extra ones to get the MCSD (you still need windows .net development, web .net development, and xml web services)

Microsoft has some great information on their site. Just go to microsoft.com and the training link in their menu.
