I am using an Access form to track a computer inventory in a school system. Each piece of equipment has a unique identifying number. I would like to only type that unique number in a field in the form and automatically have all of the other related information drop into the form in their respective fields, like serial number, price, etc. to reduce keyboard entry of that information. Is there an explanation of how to do this somewhere?

Are you expecting to store the information or just display the information from the other fields. To display (the recommeneded method), use a combo box to dispaly the identifying number. Load other columns from the equipment table into columns in the combo box. You can then use text boxes with control sources like:
=cboEquipID.Column(1)
