I have an older Toshiba A25-S207 that has lots of problems. I would like to download Windows XP Service Pack 3 to a flash drive. I went through the steps online, but Microsoft said to restart, let the updates install then install the SP3 by itself.

I can't find the exe for SP3 anywhere! I can't even find the right download folder when doing a search.

I have tried to update my video drivers, but what downloads is some utility that costs $39.95. Can't I find drivers through Toshiba without getting some lousy pay-for utility?

It took a while, but I was able to download SP3 onto a flash drive then install onto my laptop. It took four hours to install, but when I restarted and downloaded a version of Chrome compatible to XP SP3, it now runs the Internet, albeit a little slowly.

Never was able to find a driver that didn't require some junk that came along with it, so I am leaving it alone.

Thanks for all the prompt answers; the grand kids are happy to play some flash games on it today!

When you are trying to find drivers or software from sites that bombard you with links to a host of untrustworthy sources, you can filter out those bad sources with a regularly updated modified hosts file. Here's an example in a forum thread with links to such a method of control.

Yes, your link exposes some of the slyiest buttons on websites that are supposed to be trusted. I used to use Cnet all the time when I had my Macs, but lately Cnet seems to be filled with junk!

I am always confused about which button to press. Now I understand why the BIG GREEN button takes me away from what I really want.
