Am running Photoshop 9.0.2 in Creative Suite. Have been using the Batch feature to resize several hundred photos. Works great! Ok, but I want(ed) to also rename them as well, but I'm not having any luck.

when I am in the Batch settings window, and I choose which Action I want to use and I choose Opened Files. Then at the bottom where I choose Destination settings, I choose "Folder" and I choose my folder. Then below there if I try to add, for instance, a "_small" or whatever to the Document Name setting, it won't work when I click the Ok. I get an alert box that says "Please choose a document name, serial number or serial letter so the destination name is different for the different input files". What does this mean, and what should I do to make this work? Or what info am I missing here so that you guys can help me?

Thanks all

I figured this out finally on my own, but wanted to post my solution for anyone else experiencing the same problems.

To do JUST a simple rename of a bunch of files, (I'm using Photoshop 9 in CS2) I went to File/Browse and this opens up the Adobe Bridge...

Navigate to the folder with the images you need to rename.

Select all the images you need to rename.

Right click on any of them, and select Batch Rename

the resulting file naming window will allow you to select or create the new names, and/or the new destination. At the bottom of this file naming window is a "preview" so you can see if you have it right or not. It took me a few minutes of trial and error to get it just right...

Then just hit the "Rename" button, and voila! Done deal! I didn't even realize it had actually done anything because I was waiting to see something like you see when you do a straight photoshop automated batch. But I took a quick look at my destination folder and there they all were!

Hope this helps someone else!
thanks all!
