We have a Mitel SX-200ICP with release 5 software.

On occasion we'll get a complaint that someone couldn't leave a voicemail after hearing an extensions outgoing greeting message, instead, they'll be transferred to one of the system mailboxes, ie mailbox 5.

We've tracked it down to the fact that when the extension recorded their outgoing greeting message, the key they pressed to terminate their recording is apparently recorded into the greeting and when played back later, the system interprets it as a keypress and transfers to that mailbox.

We've solved the issue on an individual basis by asking the extension user to re-record their outgoing greeting but only press * or # to terminate the recording.

We'd like to change the system message from "Press any key when you are done" to "Press the star key when you are done"

Is there a way to change the user options greeting recording instructions message?

Has someone found another way to prevent the occasional DTMF recording issue?

Thanks.

Press the Mute key when you are done and wait for timeout

I doubt you can change the canned prompt

Even if you do, using intrusive methods I might apply if I was desperate, I doubt those changes would survive an upgrade.
