Is there a way to remove or "gray-out" the password field on a WIN2K professional logon screen? I only want users to enter a username and not use a password.

You can't disable the password field AFAIK, but if your users are not logging on to a Domain at all this should have a similar end result, You give all local users blank passwords and then in Administrative Tools|Local Security Settings Set 'Do not display last user name in logon screen' to Enabled then all the users need to do is type in a valid user name and hit enter.

Chris.

how about choosing "Windows Logon" (versus "Client for Microsoft Networks) in TCP/IP properties (undder Network Config tab)?

You would be correct for Win9x but this is for Windows 2000 Server

(to chris): woops, my bad. ;) you can tell we've still got 95 and 98 workstations on our network.
