Want Announcements to appear only in one site

I have a site and there is an announcement in it (which is out of date anyway). I have created another site and added anouncements webpart but it shows the announcement from the other site.
Can I restrict an announcement to within a site or a workspace? If yes, how?
Same question applies to Events.

Add a custom column to the accouncements the where you click on an option of where you want the anoucement to be displayed. Then in the webparts filter the part to only show annoucments for the column matchs.
