wanna get a common environment like an xterm

hey ppl i have created buttons for about 20 applications now wat is desired is that as soon as i click onto any of the buttons a common environment (like anxterm in linux) should come up where the user can actually run that application and see how that works..my prob is how to get a common environment or an xterm..help needed...plz drop in ur suggestions..
