WANic 650 limitations with integrated switch's CSU/DSU ?

I'm trying to Sniff a link between a Cisco router and a Nortel Passport WAN switch, LM2000 can't view traffic because Passport WAN link has CSU/DSU integrated, on the other hand, WANic 650 can't Sniff anything, does it have the same limitation ?
Connections are:

ROUTER - BNC COAXIAL - BALUN -RJ48 -WANic650 - RJ48 -BALUN -BNC COAXIAL - PASSPORT
