Good Morning,

We have several OptiPoint 410 IP phones that work fine on the desk however, they're awful as a wall phone. The little plastic V-shape part is constantly breaking or getting warn out. I need to replace all the wall mount phones with refurbished Siemens IP phones to keep the cost down. I'm new to Siemens so I have no idea which IP phones to recommend. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks Gentlemen,

Rob

Depends on your software version but replacement for optipoints was openstage. If you google unify openstage wiki you'll find the page with all the phones on. Newer models are the DPIP and CP phones but they won't be supported on older software.

Good Afternoon,

Ok I looked on the Unify Wiki Page and I do see the phones however, I'm looking for recommendations for a good dependable wall mount phone. I've been working on Siemens for a little over a month and I already know NOT to recommend using the OptiPoint 410 for a wall phone. That little plastic V shaped piece they use to hook the handset is beyond stupid. Can anyone recommend a good solid Siemens wall phone that does not use the same hook design?... I promise I'll give you a "Great post Star" [shadeshappy] hehe

Thank you

Rob

I have an OpenStage 15T wall mounted. Works pretty good, except we're migrating to OpenScape Voice so I lose TDM capability. It's an odd mounting kit, but it's been on our break room wall for several years and hasn't been killed yet! :p

I just got one of the new OpenScape Desk Phone CP600's. They're pretty neat phones, but you have to have a newer phone system to run them. They barely work at all on our HiPath 4000 V5 in HFA mode. They work better in SIP. It will work completely when I go to OSV. They do sell a wall mount for them.

Make sure if you use an Openstage phone with a wall kit that you get Wallmount Kit V2 - there is a significant difference in the pleasure of installation. Plus 3 extra handset hooks come with the kit - be sure to save them in a pill bottle or something, but I have not had one break yet!

Wow they're still using these poorly designed plastic V shaped clips in the newer model. I've only been here a little over a month and I've already had to replace 5 of these clips. Our Operating Room manager said she wants me to replace the existing wall phones and NOT with ones that use that same V-clip design. So I'm guessing if I want a Siemens IP Wall Phone I'm stuck using the same wall mount kits that are the very root of our problem? uugghh!

Ours isn't like that. Our handset hooks look like a paddle that hangs down under the phone.

I have been running my system in the hospital for over 3 years now, and have some interesting tempers, but I have not lost a single one of those little clippies yet. I have a pill bottle with probably 75 spares in it because I keep putting more in there and never take any out!! Those old classic Rolmphone clips I had to buy in bags of 25 at a crack just to keep up with the demand! Someone at your place must really be going to town on them!!

Thank you donb01 and LoPath that's good to know. Maybe it's just the model of phone that we're using? OptiPoint 410 IP phones. I'm new to Siemens so these are the only phones I know, well these and a handful of OpenStage phones we have in Admin and IT.
