Out network has an PP8600 at the core running 5.0 and edge switches that are 2500's, 470's, and BPS2000 all running the current HW and FW releases. Our network is divided into 20 VLans on the 8600. My question is, what do I have to do in order to be able to pass wake on lan packets from the server VLan (1) to the other VLans. We use Altiris for our cloning server, and it uses Wake on LAN packets to wake up machines for scheduled jobs.

Thanks

You need to address the Wake on LAN packets to the Layer 2 address of the NIC in question but you need to use the Layer 3 broadcast address of the subnet in question.

Do I need to set anything on the 8600 to make sure the packets are actually being passed thru it?

Not sure, but you might have to also have faststart enabled on the endpoint switch ports. We use Novell's Zenworks for new PC imaging and faststart has to enabled for the PC to obtain DHCP parameters when imaging.

Fast start is enabled on all the edge switches.
