I am posting this on this forum and Windows 2000 Professional because I am not sure where it belongs.
We have 66 different subnets(one for each branch) and need to be able to utilize the wake-on-lan feature on subnets other than the one we are on. We have tried using all the available utilities for sending the "magic" packet to these computers, but none seem capable of starting a machine up on the other subnets. Any ideas why wake-on-lan will not work over other subnets?
Is it possible our router configurations need to be changed?
Subnets are layed out as follows: 172.16.xx.0 where xx is branch number 1 - 66.
Thanks in advance
Roger
