Wake on LAN and Wake on Ring

Are "Wake on LAN" and "Wake on Ring" the same thing? I really cannot find any clear explanations anywhere other than various posts (in other forums) that seem to go in circles.

I have a dial up customer who claims that an incoming call on her phone line turns the computer on. She claims that it is off and not in Standby or Hibernate.

I have not made the trip to see her yet but thought I would ask the question to be forearmed

Wake on ring would be for the phone & modem. Wake on lan is for the network & nic. They are not the same thing, they are bios setting unrelated to XP.
