Waiting for system configuration to complete AlohaQS 1

Hello. I have a very strange issue with an AlohaQS location. Store was originally on 6.7 and was then upgraded to 12.3 thinking that would fix the issue, but it did not.

When starting up the registers, most of them will come up and work fine, but occasionally one of them (usually term4) will detect the master & fileserver and then say "Setup Aloha File Gateway" and then get stuck on "Waiting for System Configuration to Complete." It will be stuck on that screen for hours, sometimes days.

Things that we have checked:
Both sharing and folder permissions are good both ways, we even removed them entirely and added only Everyone with Everything on both sides.
Store was originally RAL so we re-RALed the terminal a few times.
Removed RAL and the environmental variables and then did a TermInst with a full iber instead.
Restarted terminal and BOH multiple times.
Restarted Ctlsrv multiple times.
Wiped out DATA on server and rebuilt it with data distribution via CFC.

Strange thing about what's listed above is that this store does not use RFS at all. In the Aloha.ini it's marked as "OBSOLETE" and we've changed it to "FALSE" just to test, but that did nothing. RFSSrv was not installed on the server or the terminal and never has been either. We did an install on both and it would de-register itself when restarting Ctlsrv.

I'm absolutely lost on this. I've searched these forums and the Radiant KB all over, but cannot find anything relating to this specific issue. Like I said above, this only seems to happen from time to time. I've had it where it's happening and I'll start browsing the debouts for some kind of answer and then I'll notice that it's floating in the background after 10-15 minutes. Nothing will have been done, it will just start working normally out of the blue.

Any kind of help or ideas from you all would be greatly appreciated.

Nevermind.

It was either Windows Firewall or setting the CtlSrv to local system account. Not sure which one did it but after that everything is working normally.

This is a bug. You need to deploy a newer version of 12.3

I see this happen all the time to my images and installs. It does this with 12.3.24 you need to bump up to 12.3.27 or higher. It will continue to give you trouble over and over and over again. There is alternatively a batch file I have to stop this but really just deploy a higher version and you will be fine.

The issue began when the version was 6.7.45 and the issue carried over when upgraded to 12.3. The upgrade was done ahead of schedule with the mindset that it would fix the issue.

This is a 12.3 bug tho as well. I have confirmed with NCR on this. It happens all the time for me so I just upgrade and it goes away. Only other thing I have found you can do is reboot the term or run a batch file I have to get rid of it.

Deploy 12.3.27 instead of .24 I would almost bet that is what version you are on.

Monwell, Firewall would be more of issue. I know even RAL has issue with firewall if not manually set. Since it was an issue starting in 6.7.45 That would make sense. That version is fairly rock solid. They did release a latter version 6.7.58 but I have not put it out anywhere. I go by the old saying, "if it ain't broken, dont fix it"

I have Aloha 6.7.21 on December 9th, suddenly the FOH re-started automatically and since then the FOH message is "Waiting for system configuration to complete...", I checked on terminals and on "network Drives, says "Disconnected networks".. I checked on DEBOUT and have this....

make sure you do not have a stop or halt file in the aloha temp folder. also try in aloha manager under utilities, start foh

Doesn't the absence of the OK marker file in data also cause "waiting for system configuration to complete"?
