Waiting for LLDP

I jsut set up VoIP on my switch and createdthe vlan for voice and I'm using windows dhcp for the voice vlan. When I plugged the phone into the switch it booted up and then updated and on the phones LED it sees the VLAN ID but says "waiting for LLDP"

Modified my DHCP setting in the DATA Vlan
Added the same 242 entry as the one already present in the VOICE VLAN:
MCIPADD=172.26.20.140,HTTPSRVR=172.26.20.22,VLANTE ST=0,L2QVLAN=2

VLANTEST=0 AND L2QVLAN=2 are the key

6)Cleared the values on the phone and restart it: Boot OK.

almost but not quite you are missing teh VLAN ID
your data DHCP server needs these entries in option 242
VLANID=10 (if 10 is your VLAN ID)
L2QVLAN=1
VLANTEST=60

these 3 settings go in option 242 only separated by a comma so it looks like this
L2QVLAN=1,VLANID=10,VLANTEST=60

then in your DHCP scope for the voice you need the MCIPADD=172.26.20.140,HTTPSRVR=172.26.20.22 (you can repeat the other settings if you like but it is not necessary)

This setup with the DHCP will neved work and the phone will never get it because LLDP is turned on in the switch. When the phones is plugged in it get the Voice VLAN thru LLDP.

So how you like the setup with LLDP or by pushing the VLAN id via DHCP?

1. turn off LLDP in the switch.

2. tell the switch what the voice vlan in, and turn off the scope options 176 and 242 on the DHCP.
