Hello All,

I moved a IPO 500 w/ 4.1 software yesterday and after the move the customer noticed that the phones would sometimes say waiting for line. I also had this happen to me while making some test calls, it would sit there for about 10 to 15 seconds and then connect the call. Any suggestions? btw customer said this didn't happen prior to the move, isn't that always the case?

Waiting for line means you are using all the lines connected to the system or all the lines correctly programmed, so it brings that message up while it waits for a free one :)

ok well I can tell you that all the lines were def. not in use. I have 8 co's connected to the ipo and at time of testing there was no more then 1 or 2 in use.

then you have a dead line or a defective port or you have the outgoing line ID (default is 0) assigned on a port that has no line connected.

if you have remote access go into the SSA and see if you have any alarms indicating no loop current on a line port otherwise you will need to go to site for sure.

If you have any lines or ports not in use then disable that port and waiting for line will stop. Or as suggested change any free ports to a different line ID

Ok I went back to this location yesterday and everything IP Ofiice wise looks good. The incoming and outgoing ids match, there are no dead trunks or bad ports, all programming looks good. Prob: I'm still getting this error on phones from time to time - waiting for line. I used call status to try and link the problem to one trunk but no success, it can happen on different trunks. It just seems like the ipo is taking a long time to connect a call, I mean when your standing there with the customer waiting for a call to connect it feels like forever...Any other suggestions?

Run line impedence match for each line. This will match the setting on the IPO to the current of each line. Each line will take approx. 10 minutes to run the test and that line needs to be idle while doing so. Under each line press start, it will begin matching, once done it will ask you do you want to use the best match, click yes and move onto the next line. Once you've done each line, save with an immediate reboot.
