Hi Guys,
OK, so I'm not looking for an exact figure as it is going to depend on a load on the system, yada yada yada......but I'm recording locking and blocking by reading sysprocesses, and currently I record everything then justify at the end of the week why we have X amount of wait types of type X Y and Z.
I want to cut the info down, so was going to add a waittime > xxx into the script, as we are recording items that are waiting for a millisecond currently. Is there an "acceptable" level of wait time (I'm erring more towards being included with a wait type of CXPACKET) to use as a value, or would even a busy system be expected to handle everything with a wait of less than, say, 1/4 second?
TIA for any advice,
M.
