Hi,

We have a number of CICS DB2 programs that taking an excessive elapsed time. They are supposed to be quite high burners, but even though I have tuned them as much as possible using explain and the cost tables, they still take a long time.

Examination of the log shows that the actual CPU time is under 3 seconds even though the elapsed time is nearly 3 minutes and 20 seconds. All of the rest of the time is designated at 'Wait All DB2 I/O' time.

Does anybody have any experience of getting to the root cause of this problem and can give me any pointers along the path.

Many thanks.

Marc
