Win 98 sets file extensions to uppercase for MS-DOS mode. A DOS app needs the file extensions to be lower case. I've searched the registry to locate the extension with no success. In particular, I need to set .JPG to be .jpg for a utility to handle the files.

Any ideas on changing the default param for MS-DOS file extensions from upper to lower case?

Any help appreciated.

why dont you just go into dos and change it

For example

C:\>ren win.INI win.ini

Well, that was my first thought as well. But alas, when naming the file in DOS with lower case letters, W98 converts the lower case extension to uppercase.
