All our Win98 machines launch DUN on booting and try to dial out to the internet. It is definitly caused by the presence of the BENT Win98 Agent.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this behavior?

Make sure Internet Explorer isn't doing it. Go into IE:

--> Select the "Tools" menu
--> Select "Internet Options" from the drop down menu
--> Select the "Connections" tab
--> The "Never dial a connection" radio button should be selected.

Hope this helps.

Yes, changing IE Connection properties will stop the DUN from appearing with each boot. Unfortunately, now we have to manually launch DUN to dial out to the Internet. We do that more times a day than reboot(normally).

I tried leaving IE & DUN in automatic & removing the W98 NTBE Agent from the registry, then launching it manually or as-needed after the system was up. Whenever the agent is launched it still starts DUN. It seems that starting the Agent causes IE to attempt to use the default DUN connection.

These two features seem to be mutually exclusive, in a hands-off sense.

Any thoughts?
