I have several computers on my network infeted with the W97M.Marker Virus.
I believe that this virus affects only word documents.
I need to know if i should even by concerned about this virus what it might do and possibly how to get rid of it and prevent reoccurences.
I thank all you for your help in advance

It's a fairly old virus (almost 2 years) so everyone should be able to pick it up. If for some reason it's not being detected, send the infected sample to your vendor for analysis.

It's being detected by the virus software but, the virus software does nothing about it. Does that mean that it is nothing to be concerned with. It is all over my network.

You never mentioned which AV software you're using? Probably the settings you have on the AV are screwed up.
